Growing, growing

Mango, avocado, banana, papaya...Azara is quite the little tropical food connoisseur
...Oh, and then there is the Easter egg, which you can see she was very keen on. Fortunately, I managed to rescue it before it melted in her paws, and Raquel, Mark and I enjoyed it, but I am pretty sure Azara will take after her Mummy in having a sweet tooth.
You'll see from the photos that she is growing very quickly, probably because of all the food that we are giving her! She is a lot of fun at the moment, but becoming a real handful. She has taken to grabbing everything, particularly other people's hair and the books I am trying to read her or am trying to read myself. She has also taken to trying to pull herself out of her bouncy chair...quite the escape artist, apparently like her Daddy who climbed out of his cot and broke his arm at 18 months. She loves standing up supported, but doesn't really enjoy trying to crawl. Perhaps she'll bypass that bit. But it is funny watching her on her tummy, lifting her bottom in the air.
Bathtime is also funny, but like a lot of things at the moment very messy.
Well, this is our last day with Mark and it's been lovely spending some time with him. He is off to Manila in the morning and we will be flying back to England on Wednesday, arriving on Thursday. We've had a much-needed and nice break. It's also given me a bit of time to try and figure out what I want to do in terms of work, but I am looking forward to coming home and have missed Jon very much. I know he has missed Azara. I have been showing her pictures of her Daddy on the camera, yet another thing she tries to grab and eat.
For the past three weeks she has been hearing almost non-stop Spanish and she seems to really like the musical rhythms of the language, and it's helped me improve as well. I have bought her a couple of Spanish books, one of which is actually in English as well, so I will read them to her when we get back.
Well, I had better go. I need to make the most of having the internet here as I won't have it once Mark goes. So, this will be the last of the Peru blogs for now.
Nanna and Papa are coming to stay with us in Lymington next weekend, which will be fun. Just hope the jetlag isn't too horrendous. At least it's a night flight, so we might get some sleep.
Love to you all,
H and A

More pics

Here are some more pics from this morning. Mark and I reenacted our Sunday morning traditional stroll along the malecon -- cliff-top road along the coast - to the lighthouse and then back to Starbucks, only this time with Azara. The shot of me and her is in Parque del Amor. I'm afraid the other one isn't so good as the fire extinguisher got in the way!

Happy Easter

Feliz Pascua from me and Azara, who as you can see has experienced her first Easter egg. She was obviously much more taken with the crinkly wrapping than anything else, which is good news for me. In the last few days she seems to have grown quite lot. It must be all those early morning walks along the coastal road here, or it could be something to do with all the lovely avocado she is getting to eat. She has this rather strange habit of opening and closing her mouth. Although it looks like she is pretending to be a fish, I think she may just be trying to copy us when we talk. Well, she's just managed to pull her head support out of her bouncer and is now trying to eat it, so I'd better go and do something else to entertain her -- this usually means singing, dancing or soing something else that makes me look particularly daft. Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend and the 'heat' wave has been fun.
Love to you all,
Hannah and Azara

Azara at six months

Here are some pictures of Azara at six months. I don't try to dress her in daft clothes, but since I have the Winnie the Pooh outfit, I thought I'd make the most of it. We're all well in Peru and send you lots of love from here. Hannah and Azara xxxx
